Kangana’s divisive remarks during a Manali event overshadowed the BJP State leadership’s Hamirpur rally, which served as the party’s official election campaign kickoff. “The State BJP leaders are feeling threatened by Kangana, who have outshone them with her controversial outburst,” said Vikramaditya Singh. Kangana highlighted how Bollywood’s “dynastic and family-centric” culture harmed her career in her criticism. She also attacked other political families, such as the family of Uddhav Thackeray, the former chief minister of Maharashtra. She called Congressmen Vikramaditya Singh and Rahul Gandhi “Pappu” and “Chhoti Pappu,” respectively, during her rally.

The nominal monarch of the former princely state of Bushahr and the son of six-time chief minister Virbhadra Singh, Vikramaditya Singh emphasised the value of working for the people and serving them rather than depending just on celebrity position. He highlighted his accomplishments as a Public Works Minister, including getting his department ₹3,000 crore from the Center. Singh promised to keep pushing for the growth of the state and pushed Kangana to discuss her contributions to Mandi’s welfare while running as a well-known candidate.
In the run-up to the elections, Vikramaditya Singh and Kangana have both traded disparaging nicknames for one another. Kangana referred to him as the “dynastic legacy” candidate, while Singh called her the “Queen of Controversy.” June 1st is the scheduled date of the state election.
